Dr. Alicia Bocek
DVM
Dr. Alicia Bocek was born in Binghamton, NY. She attended Binghamton University and graduated with a BS in Biology in 2002. Dr. Bocek then attended St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies, where she received her DVM in 2007. While in Grenada, she not only received an education but also a life experience. This experience has led her to become the owner of Day Hollow Animal Hospital. Dr. Bocek has a passion for Small Animal Medicine, Surgery, and Urgent Care. Dr. Bocek enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and 4 dogs. She is excited to bring her experience and passion to Day Hollow Animal Hospital and looks forward to keeping your pets healthy and families happy for many years to come.
Dr. Mallorie Hartmann
DVM
Dr. Mallorie Hartmann grew up locally in the town of Binghamton. She moved to Charlotte, NC, in 2009 and obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Biology at UNC Charlotte in 2013. She later moved to Raleigh for veterinary school, where she earned her DVM from NC State in 2019. After 10 years in North Carolina, she returned to New York to start her career in small animal medicine. She has a special interest in soft tissue surgery and urgent care/emergency medicine. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her dogs, Moseley and Penny, her cat Stewie, and her fiancé. She loves attending various workout classes, particularly Pilates, hiking, and traveling. She is dedicated to treating all patients like her own and hopes to create lasting relationships with clients and their pets.
Dr. Emily Brass
DVM
Dr. Emily Brass grew up on Long Island, NY. She earned her BA in Biology from SUNY Geneseo and attended Ross University in St. Kitts where she earned her DVM in 2023. Dr. Brass loves working with animals of all shapes and sizes and has a passion for exotic animal medicine as well as small animal medicine and surgery. Outside of Day Hollow, she enjoys spending time at home with her husband and their menagerie of horses, chickens, dogs, and cats. She is an avid gardener, baker, and loves trail riding. Dr. Brass is so excited to be at Day Hollow and is looking forward to helping pets and their families stay happy and healthy!
Dr. Nichole Baker
DVM
Dr. Nichole Baker is a New York native who graduated in 2014 from Ross University and has been practicing small animal medicine ever since. She is passionate about helping people and their pets, building strong relationships with both to support their health and well-being.
Outside of work, Dr. Baker enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, and caring for her animals, including cats, horses, and chickens.
Dr. Nichole Danova
DVM
Dr. Danova received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Michigan State University in 2000, following pre-veterinary studies completed in 1998. She then completed a one-year Small Animal rotating internship with a surgical emphasis at North Carolina State University.
She subsequently joined the Comparative Orthopaedic Research Laboratory at the University of Wisconsin as a Surgical Research Fellow, and remained to complete a three-year Small Animal Surgical Residency. Upon completion, she joined a large multi-specialty practice in Michigan as a staff surgeon.
In 2007, Dr. Danova relocated to a multi-specialty practice in the Philadelphia area, and in 2008 accepted a position as Veterinary Director and Chief Operating Officer at a referral hospital in Northeast Pennsylvania. In 2009, she founded the Veterinary Surgical Center, which expanded into the Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center (VREC) — serving the region from South Abington Township, Pennsylvania, from 2010 through 2024.
Dr. Danova now provides referral-level surgical services as a private surgical consultant, partnering with select veterinary practices throughout the region to bring specialist-level care directly to their clients.
SURGICAL EXPERTISE
Dr. Danova’s primary surgical interests include general soft tissue surgery — including cardiothoracic and oncologic procedures — as well as general orthopaedics including arthroscopy. Her research and publications encompass fatigue fractures, pelvic fractures, cranial cruciate disease, and gastrointestinal tumors. She has also contributed textbook chapters on Surgery of the Female Reproductive System and Surgery of the Nose and Nasopharynx.
